Shamma is a Partner and Head of the Tax Department, based in the Dubai office.
She is well versed with the tax system in the UAE, as a former Federal tax Authority Head of Tax Returns and Payments, she engaged in the daily tax operations and was leading a main section of the tax sector.
Shamma is highly experienced in complex tax matters, her skillset covers tax returns, refunds, voluntary disclosures, penalties, reconsiderations, and general tax advisory work. She is extremely skillful at identifying opportunities where improvement would be of significate value and execute required actions to achieve great outcomes.
Her in-depth knowledge and expertise across all tax types including VAT, Excise, and CIT enables her to assist our clients by examining the adequacy and effectiveness of existing tax process and procedures and recommend improvements to ensure compliance with the tax laws and regulations and advising on how to take advantage of all the exemptions and particularities of the UAE Tax system.
She holds a Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the American University in Sharjah (AUS) , she also holds Diploma in Corporate Tax and a GCC VAT Compliance Diploma from the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT). Shamma is a graduate of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation run by Cambridge Judge Business School – UK.
